WASHINGTON -- Angered by Bush administration policies they contend endanger national security, 26 retired U.S. diplomats and military officers are urging Americans to vote President Bush out of office in November.
The group, which calls itself Diplomats and Military Commanders for Change, does not explicitly endorse Democrat John Kerry for president in its campaign, which will start officially Wednesday at a Washington news conference.
The Bush-Cheney campaign said Sunday it would have no response until the group formally issues its statement at the news conference.
Among the group are 20 ambassadors, appointed by both Democratic and Republican presidents, other former State Department officials and military leaders whose careers span three decades.

The Bush Campaign, to whom freepers give money, had better have some sort of response beyond "We categorically reject this assertion." With all the money they have been given, why have they not put together their own array of senior officials, both Dem and GOP, to rebut?
So some striped-pants state department workers don't like Bush. Stop the presses!
A lot depends on who's on the list. If it's just your standard sniveling Demos, no biggie. But if some credible Republicans sign the statement, their defection could dog Bush.
If that is the total list, the damage should be minimal. No Republican heavyweights. Crowe has been a dunderhead on numerous issues so his defection is not that surprising.
All you need to know is Stansfield Turner, the man who gutted the CIA's human intelligence capabilities for Jimmah Carter; and Wesley Clark. A real bunch of socialist UN-loving weenies.
That claim was disproven on the other thread. Hoar left CENTCOM in June of 1990 as a Major General two months prior to the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. He wouldn't have been eligible to command Desert Shield/Storm.

When Kerry's Vietnam compatriots formed a group and had a press conference on how they felt he was unfit to lead the country, the news agencies didn't cover it all. They totally ignored the press conference.

That was my first thought. So, where are the Officers whom Clinton dismissed during his term? The ones who were in open rebellion against him? They should band together and counter this bunch of rabid America destroyers. If Kerry is elected - that is what we will see. America destroyed.
Agreed! As I and some of my friends refer to the polictical suck-ups in the military under Clinton as Knee-pad Generals...
