...weren't all mineral rights relinguished as part of the deal? I don't think Israel has any claim on whatever oil there might be under their land. Maybe the deal was brokered after the 1967 war.

And if they reneg on the "deal", who is going to come in and take it? They can kick tail on all the combined arab countries, and Russia or China would have a long supply chain to maintian.

Clearly I don’t know zilch about mineral rights in Israel! LOL!

I listen to Michael Medved and I recalled a conversation he had last year with a caller who was complaining about Israel’s place in the world. The caller made the comment that Israel had “all this oil on top of taking away the home of the Palestinians”…Medved said that was not true, because Israel had signed away its rights after some conflict (don’t remember that part). I reckon I wasn’t paying close enough attention or just THOUGHT I heard something that wasn’t said. At any rate, after googling several Israel/oil/mineral rights topics, I was clearly misinformed.
