Saw an interview the other day with a young man who was in the last known public photo of President Reagan. He and his grandfather were both immigrants from the former USSR, and saw the President in the park - he's a huge fan of President Reagan, and didn't hesitate to say so - left the CNN guy squirming because of his praise. When they asked him what they said to President Reagan, he stated (paraphrased) "Thank you for destroying the Soviet Union - if you hadn't done that, my family and I would still be stuck over there." The reporter asked what President Reagan's response was - "That was my job."
Wow... did he say when this conversation took place?
fantastic story
BTW to ALL: Does anyone have a sound clip or wav file of
Ronald Reagan saying "win one for the Gipper" ?
This is not the time but it will be in the comming weeks.
