I was thinking that same thing about carter. He hates this speech by Mrs. Thatcher
Everytime I hear a reference to the dismal America Reagan inherited, I smile bittersweet.
For the America Carter left behind was an awful place and alas, I remember it too well. I also feel a little bit of sweet revenge. Carter got a Peace prize and yet he almost destroyed this country.
The references to the America Reagan inherited are brief, appropriate and not in your face. But the general despair of this country with Carter has been SAID...hallelujah, hallelujah!
The Dems have got to be taking gas but believe it, a whole bunch of Americans have watched some or all of this past week's events. Some were not even born when Reagan was President. But they are hearing that little sound byte about the malaise of America when Reagan stepped up to the podium and however sublimnly, the message is getting through.
And the Dems with no hope of their silly rebuttals and altering spin. Gotta love it. Even in his death, Reagan helped to speak a pure truth to the people of America he so loved.
I heard on Fox or somewhere that all living Presidents were there but I haven't seen Carter nor Ford.
