Alot of dignataries are now showing up to pay respects. McCain, Guiliani, Gorby, Karzai, etc.
Cspan has live coverage. Bush expected at 7 but could be earlier? He is then going to visit with Mrs. Reagan.
Guard changes about every half hour at .28 and .58 of the hour. One is going on right now.
Absolutely!! I heard him in a radio interview a couple of weeks ago--said he'd be back out there with him if there were any way he could go. Completely humble and not a shred of bitterness or pity about his wounds. Reminds me of the poem by D.H. Lawrence...
Self-Pity
I have never seen a wild thing
sorry for itself
A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough
without ever having felt sorry for
itself.
I have to get going too. Just asked my husband for 5 more minutes. We have a dinner out with kids planned.
See post #90 on this thread.
Clinton...8 years in office, 4 years out of office, and I read that he STILL has not made his funeral plans. Broke statute requiring it and 12 years late.
Music legend Ray Charles (news), center, laughs as President Reagan and Nancy Reagan joined him at a salute to country music at Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C., on March 16, 1983. Charles died Thursday, June 10, 2004, a spokesman said. He was 73. (AP Photo/Ira Schwarz)
It sounded like the little baby had a mike in its hand.
" Do you know what scares me about Clinton's funeral? I'm afraid that he'll request to be buried at Arlington "
I don't know ..... too many men may feel compelled to relieve themselves at the sight .....
Ooooh. Bad freudian slip....
Be Seeing You,
Chris
I thought I was going to make it through today without tearing up,...then I read your post. That is the sweetest thing he could say.
prisoner of War is on TCM with Ronald Reagan. Very poignant movie.
More Men in Black....the alien fighters meeting must have just ended.
God called Ray home to play for the Great Man, who had just arrived.
OH! Now that made me cry! (again!)
And what's best--and I mean this with all sincerity--now Ray can see him. Gives new meaning to the first verse in the song "Amazing Grace"--
"was blind, but now I see."
The Toon probably thinks he'll never die.
I cannot see clinton wanting those long nights to come, when spirits walk and talk amongst themselves. I don't think he would be among friends there.
Great find, Kaslin!
I know itis easy and tempting, but,can we all agree to leave off on any Clinton references on the live threads.?
It soils the thread.
