To: Rate_Determining_Step
I've done research on this subject when I considered living in America...among ideas I had were Charleston, South Carolina. Yes it's warm, but at least the sea breezes are present. If you work in information technology, North Carolina, the Raleigh-Durham area, is a realistic prospect.

I speak from a particular bias, however. I have difficulty resisting a southern lady saying "Swaaytie". ;)

The problem with Charleston (and Savannah) is that you will always be an outsider if your family hasn't been there at least 200 years.
