Thank you Senator Stevens for an excellent tribute.

BTW, the speech text from the press release was in all caps.

Bill O'Reilly says this was way too political and partisan. I sure am glad Bill's around to tell me what to think.

That's why I clicked on this story. I listened to Stevens yesterday and thought nothing of it and then watched O'Reilly and was like "Huh?"

What am I missing? What is so political about it? They were comparing it to the Wellstone pep rally for crying out loud!

Personally, I wouldn't have chosen Senator Stevens to follow up the invocation delivered by the House chaplain.

He may be the Senate Pro Tempore, but he's not the most spellbinding orator on the block.

Thank goodness we had Vice President Cheney to deliver those amazing concluding remarks.

His performance was the highlight of the evening.

No doubt that if O'Blowhard had been on air in the 80's he would have called every utterance of Reagan "too political and partisan." Reagan was polite but direct.

Monica Crowley said the same thing on The O'Reilly Factor.

Bill O'Reilly says this was way too political and partisan.

Bill O'Reilly is a self-absorbed jerk. If he was half as impressive as he is impressed with himself he still wouldn't amount to a pimple on Reagan's backside.

Yes she did. Maybe she was just agreeing with him to keep the tone civil. Michelle Malkin, however, saw no problem with the speech.

I heard this speech over the radio and all I could say it made feel like cheering.

Then I heard Oreallynot, and wonder if he had heard the same speech.

Then the Rino chimed in, seesh the rockefeller wing of the pubbies still doesn't get it, you don't play to tie.

Thank you for posting this (even if it is all in caps). I did not see Sen. Stevens speak, but I did hear Bill O'Reilly's comments about it being too political. I think it is a fine tribute to the accomplishments and character of one of this country's greatest presidents.

Personally, I'm surprised that Gov. Schwarzenegger and Sen. Fitzgerald aren't going to be speaking at Friday's ceremonies.

Then again, I guess it's really up to Nancy Reagan.

After all, the decisions, preparations and execution of most of the elements relating to President Reagan's memorial were left up to her.

Frankly, Monica Crowley has said a lot of rather dumb things recently, this just being the latest.

I did not get to see Senator Stevens speech. I was watching the second running of O'Reilly. He made it sound like Stevens went on some partisan tirade. This is the first I time I have read it. I don't see what the big deal is.

O'Reilly is getting left field more often these days.

the invocation delivered by the House chaplain.

I'm still trying to find the text of Coughlin's invocation. If you happen to run across it would you mind FReep mailing it to me?
