Atheists and those falsely posing as religious (and they are legion) worship their own minds, desires and intellect. They themselves are the supreme authority

Such people live in the religiously based culture and accept subconsciously the rules and methods of that culture. They are not harmful to that culture, at least not in the short term.

I agree with most everything you are saying in this regard. We are living on the capital of the Judeo-Christian foundation of civilization. But the outcome is precarious, since the secularist/moral relativists (aka as socialists and leftists) have been on the attack for so long.
