When I was a boy in the fifties, I remember seeing Mars through a telescope for the first time and dreaming that night of going there. These missions are just about the most marvelous things I've ever watched. I sure wish I wasn't too old to go...others share that opinion!

We're on another planet and there is rarely a peep from the media on the progress!

What an incredible feat!

Ummm... guys it's a bit embarrassing.. but I was er.. wondering we seem to have lost Beagle II some place on Mars and seeing as your rovers seem to be doing quite well could they keep a look out for Beagle II?

Maybe put up a few posters?

Much appreciated.

Opportunity will drive into the crater after all.

I think Mars' revolution period is 1.8 Earth years. That could make spring a long ways off.

Isn't there a Mars equivalent of Florida where it could winter?

Opportunity would drive slowly forward with its robot arm stretched out, steer to a band of exposed rock, do its business and then back out, straight up the hill.

I wonder if Opportunity will kick up a few blades of grass (martian pebbles in this case) like my cocker spaniel did when he was done with his business.

I liked your report. The Libs however, are going to start complaining that with the mission we are probably doing environmental harm to Mars. Then next summer a movie will come out about the ecological disaster there and the money that was earned by Bush on the mission. Michael Moore will create another propaganda film and the Dems will want a full investigation blaming the whole mess on Cheney. Get the probes back now!
