If they had but watched what the cameras captured, they'd have noticed MANY people dabbing at their eyes in those crowds. Some were doubtless just onlookers, but many were obviously saddened.

Hey, Miz. Nice to talk to you during this historic time.

I agree, the media would see that, but it would be easy to ignore and portray it down the road as people just turning up not out of any real affection or affinity for the man, but today it was made so clear it will be hard (though they'll still try) to sell that line. They just do not want to admit how very aligned with Reagan this country was and remains.

Chris Matthews tonight flat out said he thought Reagan would be remembered as more controversial. I predict when Clinton goes Chris will be shocked to find out that Clinton is really considered controversial. To them up is down and down is up.

I think the bulk of America is apathetic about Clinton. The best he can hope for will be to go down in history as a big, fat zero of a President, the Millard Fillmore of the 20th Century. Reagan is more controversial, because he actually stood up for what he believed in and accomplished great things.
I remember during his second term there was no big public outcry for his impeachment. He and the Dems thought that meant he was safe. But what it really meant was the vast majority of the population didn't care whether he was impeached or not.
