Has anyone noticed the absence of any mention (by name) of Carter? Several speakershowever, have referred to the worst depression ('70's)"since the great Depression" and the feeling that our best days were behind us.

Yea, Stevens even used the word, "malaise" during his speech. He may as well just said Carter's name, LOL.
