If you want to be precise, Chyron is a trademark for a device that superimposes electronic graphics on a television image...and is kind of like Xerox to photocopies.

I would just point out that kleenex is to tissue and band-aid is to 'adhesive bandage' as chyron is to 'superimposition of electronic graphics on a television image.'
