I have a question, anyone here know why there wasnt this much of an event for Nixon? I read a news article that stated the last state funeral for a president was Johnson in 1973. Just wondering, semms like all the presidents would have the same procession. Not comparing Nixon to Regan, just wondering..

I read it was his family wishes and had something to do with his Quaker background

Obviously you haven't been listening to CNN. Because they tell us every hour that because of the way 'Nixon left this town, the family decided to have his funeral at his library.' They are very desperate to make that point.

Nixon decided AGAINST a state funeral

According to talking head experts for the past few days, every former president is entitled to a full state funeral, which is what this is. A president makes his preference known as soon as he leaves office, and his wishes/plans, are updated yearly thereafter.
The Nixon family chose not to have a state funeral.
The Johnson family did opt to have one.
