I told my wife back in 1989 that Ronald Reagan will go down in history as one of the best presidents ever to serve. She laughed and said "why?" I told her that he lifted a weary nation to its feet and made it believe in itself again, he stood tall and faced down the threat of the Soviet Union, and it will end up on the ash heap of history. About 4 years ago I told her that when "Dutch" passes away, we will see the world pay respects to the man who defeated Communism and a nation paying respects to a man who saved America and the world.
I will say right now that George W. Bush will one day be remembered as the President Ronald Reagan passed the torch to, and saved the world from a different kind of Tyranny, but just as dangerous. What is happening in the middle east will change the course of history, and IMHO, for the greater good of mankind
I am so very pleased with the Reagan ceremonies thus far,
and IMO, the funeral as it has been described, will be not
only fitting for his greatness, but also down home American.
We are burying and bidding farewell to the greatest
president of the last centruy, bar none.
I totally agree with you.
His torch has been passed to GWB, and
come this November we must "win one for the Gipper."
A Bush vicotry with long GOP coattails.
