That's my favorite Reagan one-liner. Any guy that can joke like that after being shot is one tough sob.
Reagan could really put an edge on his humor. In the California governor's race he took note of some protesters with saying " I saw group that carried a sign that said --Make love not war--. By their looks, they were not capable of doing either." Those kinds of liberals couldn't take a joke and it he knew it. He also know that they would be too stoned on Election day to go vote.Somebody said today the his favorite target was Gorbachev and Gorby didn't mind.
Mine was "We begin bombing in five minutes".
My fave is the one from the open mike radio address about bombing Russia, but this one tops the list also:
"Since I came to the White House, I've gotten two hearing aids, had a colon operation, a prostate operation, skin cancer, and I've been shot. Funny thing is, I never felt better."
