I agree wholeheartedly. There are nice clothes that would have been comfortable and cool.
I also live in Florida. Casual wear is the norm, but I think it's tacky to wear that kind of clothing to pay respects to the deceased.
One did not necessarily have to wear a tie or formal dress. But those people I happen to see on TV were dressed like bums in ill-fitting and trashy clothes. One had on what looked like PJ pants and sneakers and a dingy T-shirt. Another one even kept his baseball cap on as if to mock Reagan.
