Actually a Marine takes an Oath that goes like this:

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic...

You do not swear alliegance to a government you swear to protect and defend the constitution which btw came about over confiscatory tax policies.

You would do well to remember such when you are gleefully high fiving each other over sticking it to the man!

The Revoloution was started over a 3% tax.

Tell me how do you think our founding fathers would view our graduated income tax system today which starts in at 10% not to mention all the other taxes layed upon us by your nanny state so as to grant power to all those congress critters.

Maybe you should take out that oath and brush up a bt and figure out who the enemy is.

Politicians can't get into office without votes.

Who votes for these guys who take your money and tells you it is all good but the Corporations are the bad guys.

Think real hard guys and try to keep those knees still while ya do it.

120 - "Tell me how do you think our founding fathers would view our graduated income tax system today which starts in at 10% not to mention all the other taxes layed upon us by your nanny state so as to grant power to all those congress critters."

That question was argued and argued in the early 1900's, with the advent of the income tax. And congress and country passed laws, and a constitutional amendment, to make the income tax officially legal, whether you like it or not. (See the last paragraph of my last post.)

And when that happened, the US government got enough money to become a great world power. Perhaps we should cut our government income and cut our government power and become a pastoral land again, and a world weakling, open to conquest by other more powerful countries.

I have lived and worked in numbers of countries where the favorite sport of the elites and companies was either 'cheating' on taxes, bribing their way out of them, or somehow avoiding them. They were invariably countries where there were a few rich people, with corrupt governments, and lots of poor people, as the rich continually robbed the poor citizens of their own countries.

It is for this reason I call those who continually try to skip out responsibility by opressing/mistreating their fellow citizens and skipping out on taxes FREE-TRAITORS. Because they indeed are, traitors to their own countrymen. (Not everyone can be rich, and talented, and lucky and powerful, but we can try to assure they have tat opportunity.) The world is full of those ducking their responsibiliteis to their countrymen, all over the world. The mid-east is particularly full of those evil people who rip off their own countrymen to their own advantage. (EG the largest Mercedes dealership in the world is in Cairo, Egypt, one of the world's poorest countries).

Those countries, where governments have attempted to assure that they represent and serve all the people, rathen just the few, the countries have universally become good places to live and to become wealthy and powerful. Where the governments 'preached' the equality (socialism and communism), and lied to their people, and reserved the best for the 'elites', through the 'dictatorship of the proletariet', or tried to spread too few resources to too many people (socialism) and tried to implement equality of 'outcome' rather than equality of 'opportunity', they again fail.

Our government is currently moving fast into the 'failure' mode, by trying to spread too little to too many (the whole world), and guarantee 'equality of outcome', we will fail.

This however, does not give anyone or any corporation the 'right' to rip-off the hard won gains of their fellow countrymen. Shipping your fellow countrymen's jobs overseas, and ripping off their livelyhoods, ust so you can make more money, is not only the act of an immoral person/corporation, it is the act of a traitor.

If you don't like supporting this country the way it is, try to change it, and change the laws, or move to another country more to your liking. [Hong Kong used to be a place you would have liked - and look what happened there - go on to Hong Kong. Or, perhaps, actually, Russia, they now have a uniform tax rate of 15%, and lots of opportunity, perhaps you may like to go there, - but beware the Russian Mafia and all the bribes you must pay, just to stay in business].
