I told myself that I would not mourn his death, but to celebrate his long life......I should know better....it can't be done.
I think mourning is part of death and loss, no matter how much we try to say the person is "better off" and know where he/she is. I know that's true about my grandmother--she was in more pain than we realized the last months of her life; I can tell when I look back at pictures. But I still miss her terribly, even tho I know she's in heaven, out of pain.
