You know what, I was very young when President Kenmedy died, but I vividly recall the visuals; the majesty and dignity of the official events. However, I expect that yes, some commentator did, indeed, mention the failures of his abbreviated administration.

I doubt it. He would have been pilloried. If someone had, how has the Kennedy myth had such resilience. The Kennedy Presidency was not a triumphant one.

A couple of days after Kennedy was killed in Dallas, nobody had the stones to critique his many failures during the memorial services. That didn't happen!!
