Had a teacher who was on an Army honor guard. They had a funeral for a federal judge and were awarded medals for it. But before anyone thinks they have it easy, one mistake during a ceremony as a bare minimum gets the soldier an article 15, or possibly a court martial. This is serious work.

I always wondered how much they'd have to practice to get it all right. One day I watched military people who had been killed as their coffins were taken from the planes to the limos. It was soooo touching. The people in the honor guard were so precise. They must count out absolutely all of their moves or something, to get it all right. What a show of respect for the person who has died!
