The VC's were pretty much, although not entirely, eliminate during Tet '68. By design of their North Vietnamese alliesmasters. The NV's didn't want the competition. Many former VC are now living Houston, Lincoln, etc, etc. They were well represented in the second wave of "boat people", along with many people who, or whose family members, had recently gotten out the "re-education" camps. I know one of them, well maybe two come to think of it.

Even the northerners in NVN do not care for the communists and also call them VeeCee. I listened to old NVAs tell me how it was a mistake or they did not know that it was the wrong war to fight until after 1975 when they saw something of the real world in the south and they didn't have to attack or die. If you are over 45, fairly healthy and want to feel truly appreciated take a couple weeks vacation in Viet Nam. Go to one of the smaller towns like Cam Ranh and just walk around.
