Theirs will be the only traffic along the route.
There is a typo on Drudge's site, On Thursday it says he lies in state for 24 hours...the funeral takes place Friday and the G-8 people will go Friday from the summit to the state funeral. The typo is the fact that it looks like everything occurs on Thursday...the Word Friday should be on a separate line.
I heard that also.I thought it was extremely tasteless!
They better be careful. President Reagan was loved by the masses.
Aren't you the dreamer. She, of course, will have to sit "up front" with Bubba to get her face time.
I also thought it was tasteless. Otoh, if it's a state funeral, wouldn't the state of California be paying for it?
Former Presidents and spouses will be in front rows either next to or behind family. If anything Clinton will act similar to how he did for Cardinal O'Connors funeral which was pretty pathetic.
Did you get the name of the reporter or their affiliation?
ping!
I've got a feeling they will have an escort.
Yep... the library is on a hill... as I understand it, all parking will be closed and a shuttle will be needed to get to the library.
I have a feeling that the CHP is going to clear a path.
Then why does it say "private"...
I Confuse easily, you see..
I'm at least mildly curious about that myself, hoping that he's in a nice mahogany half-couch or even a solid copper full couch.
I noticed that Gates is a Dignity Memorial Funeral Home, which is owned by SCI. One of the best casket manufacturers of fine woods is Marcellus, out of New York, and past supplier of caskets for JFK, Harry Truman, LBJ, and Richard Nixon (and Jackie Kennedy), all buried in The Masterpiece, a solid African mahogany casket with red velvet interior. Marcellus is also owned by SCI, so I'll be curious if he's buried in one of these beauties.
Eisenhower was buried in a solid copper made by Belmont. Belmont is no longer in business.
look for WJC to say "I learned much of my understanding and approach to the real meaning of our government, from Ronald Reagan," and stuff like that.
it will be irritating, but endurable, by clinton era standards.
Thanks Kent. I searched for a previous posting and missed this one. This is very helpful!
I'd imagine that would work better. I'm looking around for information about where to park to catch a shuttle. I'll have little kids with me.
I am sure they will open a lane just for the President.
Casket - $80 government issue requested by Eisenhower the only difference between his casket and those furnished for any soldier buried by the Army is an inner glass seal that cost an extra $115. It was lined with tailored eggshell crepe.
From Eisenhower Library..is this the same thing?
