Hollywood sources tell LA Weekly columnist Nikki Finke that former President Ronald Reagan's medical condition has suddenly worsened. "He really took a downslide today," the insider told Finke Friday evening. "Doctors are at the house. Things aren't good." At the start of the day, several news organizations chased down a rumor that the ex-president had died, but it wasn't true... Family members gathered at the Reagan's Bel Air home late Friday... Look, folks... the Great Man is now like 93 years old...
Heaven has more need of him now, than do we the living.
Mortality comes to us all.
Well done, thou good and faithful Presbyterian...
Enter now into the Joy of thy Lord.
God bless, and God speed.
He came here (Rochester, NY) in 1984 when he was campaigning ... we have a minor league hockey team (AHL) called the "Americans" -- Amerks for short.
He spoke before a packed house at our arena and was presented with an Amerks jersey with "REAGAN" and the number "1" on the back.
The crowd roared for several minutes as he stepped to the lectern. Finally, he had the chance to speak: "Did you cheer that loud for the Amerks when they won their 1000th game [as they had a couple nights before]."
Great stuff.
Bump.

I agree. I hate to consider the political aspects of his passing, but no doubt that the outpouring of memories, of praise, and of love for Pres. Reagan will overwhelm the efforts of the news media to suppress and spin his legacy.
What a loss that we did NOT have him for the past decade.. He would have offered so much to so many....
Godspeed to a worthy servant...He wore so many hats in his lifetime... how thankful we can all be that we were blessed with his presence / influence in our lives.
He's was a rock when the nuclear freeze crowd and anti-tax-cut crowd panicked.
Strong man. Inner strength because he had core beliefs.
A rare politician.
Godspeed Ron.
The society we heard from is made up of millions of compassionate Americans and their children, from college-age to kindergarten. As a matter of fact, as evidence of that I have a letter with me. The letter came from Peter Sweeney. He's in the second grade in the Riverside School in Rockville Centre, and he said, "I hope you get well quick or you might have to make a speech in your pajamas." And he added a postscript. "P.S. If you have to make a speech in your pajamas, I warned you."
Reagan address to Congress, April 28, 1981
Your "rambling" made me misty-eyed.
How I wish I could've met him, too.
Instead, I met him vicariously through your wonderful story.
Thank you...:)
Thank you! Lovely. Now you got me going again. Tears falling on the floor.
Don't apologize.
and the media still hasn't figured out how Reagan beat them at their own game.
Protestors on TV waving their red flags, throwing bottles, cussing Bush and the Evil Yankees...sigh
Reminds me of a Regan era exchange. A liberal reporter babe, calls up the Reagan team, feeling pretty proud. She had just done a wicked hit piece on Reagan, basically called him everything but the devil.
I don't remember it exactly, but it was something like this:
She asks the Reagan aide " So, did ya see the piece on evening news. Pretty rough, but that's our job."
Reagan aide: "yeah, I saw that, it was fantastic."
Reporette: "Fantastic! How can you call my report fantastic, I tore the President apart."
Reagan Aide: " He he. Darlin' Ya still don't get it do ya? You just gave us a 6 minute ad on the evening news. You showed the President in front of the American flag. Then you cut to a band of communist guerillas in the jungle. Then you show the President on an aircraft carrier. Then more leftist students. closing shot is the President in the Oval. How can you work in tv and not know this stuff? "
Reporterette then goes on to explain how Reagan and his team knew their jobs better than they did, they knew how to go over media and politics talk directly to the people.
Also she was amazed that most people didn't listen to the left wing talking heads as much as they processed the imagery on the tv. Decisions are made pretty wuick.
She thought Reagans deft handling of media was amazing. For being such a "dummy he sure ran circles around us. "Always positive, never petty. Patriotic, humble, mom, flag, apple pie stuff.
Stuff Americans love, but liberals hate.
Still the left doesn't get it.
Euro-Commies protesting Bush on tv actually help Bush. Think about it, whose side are most people on, the guy laying the wreath at the memorial, or the smelly teens waving red flags and throwing beer bottles?.....sigh
Oh sure....shove it off on somebody else's shoulders!...;)
Actually there is Reagan freeway near the Reagan libaray in Simi Valley
I know what you mean
Thank you.
I have no proof of this, but I believe his spirit is already in the presence of God. I pray that he might be completely released from this awful disease, but the thought of his passing creates a sense of loss. We love you, Mr. President.

What an idea!
Otherwise, I'm just gonna have to sit and watch it on some lousy TV....:(
You mean Mount Pilot! :)
