Yes! I use the word Negro too. My lefty friend and I were just talking about how Mr. Crouch and I both use this word. I'll have to send her this piece, lol.

And I'll mention to her another hearing of this, listening to NPR the other day, the host had Mario Van Peebles and his dad Melvin on to talk about Mario's new movie about the making of the Dad's old movie. Dad was late, but the son said "We don't need to wait for that negro..."

It's a sad indication of social pathology to feel the need to post evidence the author is a Negro, when discussing an article about the word "Negro". From what I understand, Negro is a legitimate form of "Negroid", a anthropological term, like "Caucasian" and "Mongoloid".

my wife and I were talking about that word the other day. It is definitely old-fashioned, but it isn't exactly racist. The funny thing is, etymologically the opposite word is 'albino'.

It is obvious that FR is a conservative forum. No liberal would have had the blunt honesty to post the author's picture as "the rest of the story" -- or "the whole truth".

It is standard liberal practice to display only that part of the whole truth that serves their cause, and to ignore or hide the rest. And, the sad thing is that they are totally blind to their own dishonesty!

Had this article been posted on DU, the rants about "racist", "hateful", "redneck". "nasty conservative", "KKK", etc. would have been endlessly vitriolic -- because no one on that forum would have had the honesty -- or the cojones -- to post the whole truth.

Thank you for your conservative honesty! That's what makes FR the "place" I call "home".
