Right and it is easy enough for either or both to come around, either with a new government or with the same government. All they need do is accept in the modern world that a competitive tax system not complaining about what others are doing is required and that the US is leading the world in the War on Terror and they need to get fully on board.

France and Germany are not isolated.

Isolating the two biggest countries of Europe would be very difficult and if you have seen how the deficit procedure was you know that they aren't.

In fact the Spanish government changed and France and Germany pay the subventions which go to the new EU members, too. Poland etc will give way.
