Why would you imply that my daughter, an Airman, would degrade the fighting ability of our armed forces? She is a member of our armed forces, and they are kicking terrorist *ss all over this planet.

The American Military Machine is the most awesome fighting machine ever assembled on the face of the planet. Period. In this time of war, I salute ALL of them.

I hate it when these discussion devolve into whether there should be women in combat. The larger issue of whether our men have equality is what is important.

If an equally equipped and peopled force, one of entirely of men and one entirely of women, were to meet in armed conflict, who would win?

You can dodge and weave, but you have to acknowledge the male force would win. That being so, the only possible conclusion that can be reached is that however many woman are put into combat, the force will be degraded to that extent.

As for your daughter, if she is exposed to combat, she is not kicking ass anywhere. The men in her unit are.

If she is in a protected administrative job, releasing more men to fight, then bless her. But she, in that kind of job, is "kicking ass" only indirectly, as appropriate.

Get me?
