You're thinking real hard there aren't you. First he's not a liar, because he was under extreme duress. Second he was speaking to satan in his native tongue, dealing out the rubbish he so deserves. He lives and that makes God happy and satan disappointed. Neither God, nor any that love him see this man's actions as a sin, they see it as triumph over satan and a bunch of his vicious clowns.
It is your duty to escape and screw the enemy were ever you can and this man did a good job of it. He is neither prophet, nor preist, but he denied them the best way he knew how.
I do know that had htis man died there would be no witness and you would never check to see if this man was a christian that dies professing his faith. You would never go out of your way to check to see if he had a family that you could take care of. See folks over there put up with this crap all the time and if they didn't keep to themselves, they'd be killed.
So when we say "I believe in Jesus Christ..." it only needs to be said when it's very easy to say it? Is Christianity just for the easy times?
And, I suppose under extreme duress that every one of Jesus' twelve Apostles and many others were foolish in not lying their way out of death? They probably could ave just simply denied Christ and gone on living and gone off on thhe merry to witness to a more peaceable, and accepting people?
"Second he was speaking to satan in his native tongue, dealing out the rubbish he so deserves."
True Christians don't speak "satan-ese" anymore. They speak the Word of God.
"But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit." Mark 13:11 You see, God will provide the Word, there is no mention of "lying your way out of the prediciment" to save you skin. "He lives and that makes God happy and satan disappointed. Neither God, nor any that love him see this man's actions as a sin, they see it as triumph over satan and a bunch of his vicious clowns.
I don't judge him, because God is the ultimate judge. However, Hebrews 10 telles it this way:
"But recall the former days in which, after you were illuminated, you endured a great struggle with sufferings: partly while you were made a spectacle both by reproaches and tribulations, and partly while you became companions of those who were so treated; for you had compassion on me in my chains, and joyfully accepted the plundering of your goods, knowing that you have a better and an enduring possession for yourselves in heaven. Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise:
"For yet a little while,And He who is coming will come and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him." But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul.
