Italian Interior Minister Giuseppe Pisanu said militants had been planning more attacks as police swooped as part of an operation across Europe. He said the swoop was aimed at a group "close to al Qaeda."........
Published Tuesday, June 8, 2004 FORT LAUDERDALE A bomb threat forced a Spirit Airlines jet to return to Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport after takeoff Monday, but officials said no explosive was found.
Flight 262 left for Atlantic City, N.J., about 11 a.m., but landed at Fort Lauderdale about an hour later after Spirit's telephone reservations center received an anonymous threat that there may have been a bomb on the plane, Broward County sheriff's spokesman Hugh Graf said.
The 126 passengers and five crew members got off the flight without injuries, airport spokesman Jim Reynolds said. Link to Article
