That is a very good question. I remember reading about how some viruses and bacterias thrive in cold weather and others thrive in hot weather. Some are killed in coldness and others die in heat. Some are not greatly affected by either.
When we wash our kitchens, bathrooms, etc., we use hot water and a cleaning agent to help kill germs (supposedly this works but I have seen too many investigative specials that show we just move the germs around!). Yet operating rooms are kept frigid to ward off the germination of bacteria.
