My remedy Take a bunch of Impatiens get rid of the flowers leaving the stems and leaves and then bring them to a boil for about 4 minutes. It should turn a light greenish color, let it cool a bit and put the liquid and the remaining leaves on the poison ivy. It should be warm but not too hot to burn. Keep the remainder in the fridge for later usages and just heat to warm when needed.

I've heard of many home remedies. This one is new to me. Thanks for sharing.

It's also known as Jewelweed. Some say it can act as a preventitive, and that by rubbing it on you before you do the yard work, walk in the woods etc... it will prevent the rash from occuring, but I never seem to remember to do that, so I can't comment on that.
