"Know what we call queers here in the South?" Funny; I thought we just called them queers.

Excellent! A good strike against PC: By simple logical extension, all the synonymic expressions, previously thought of as derogatory, now are to be seen as OK.How true! The judge realized that the diversity crowd has painted itself into a corner.
The judge is a lefty; she's a leading painter from the diversity crowd! The synonyms may or may not still be actionable, because they're nasty (and because leftwing judges are hypocrites), but I guarantee you that this judge and her comrades will not be consistent and throw out hate-crime designations, anymore than they have done so regarding race-based "hate crimes."

"Those "gay" people are mighty touchy."
I never really understood why they prefer to be called "gay"...they are undoubtedly the most miserable and unhappy lot of people I've ever seen.
The only thing that seems to make them happy is to be able to flaunt their brand of lovemaking to the whole world...like we care.
I would imagine a lot of people have their "quirks" or preferences in regards to lovemaking, but most don't try to get it on the 6 o'clock news every night.
Now, they're trying to ride the coat tails of the Civil Rights movement with comments about "riding on the back of the bus", etc. It seems that the black community would be greatly offended by the "gays" hijacking their agenda, especially since their plight is natural, and the "gays" is "chosen".
Now, they're trying to pass a law making the Bible into "hate speech", mainly because the teachings in there about homosexuals. If we sit and let our congresscritters pass this one, then communism has won...the OUTLAWING OF RELIGION will be the final nail in the coffin of what was once a great nation.
Remember, you can't put the toothpaste back in the tube, so we need to head this one off now...it's near 'bout time to start raising hell.

You said it better than me and it needs to be repeated:

The ruling by U.S. District Judge Nancy Gertner came as she threw out a lawsuit by a former boyfriend of pop singer Madonna who claimed he was libeled because his name appeared in a photo caption in a book about Madonna - under a picture of Madonna walking with a gay man. Did the caption in fact misidentify the man in the photo? If so, why would this count as a libel rather than an error?
To: FrankR
"Gays" sure do act like they're miserable. Guess the "gayness" is only "gay" when everyone else supports it?
As for whether we care, they want to wear us down so we don't care. Used to be we would get outraged over that kind of behavior and much more so if it were flaunted.
