So many spies have been caught photographing the refineries in Texas that it doesn't even make the news anymore.

Let's meet in thirty years and see what historical consensus calls the Cold War. I have my guess:

The Cold War

Read post #100 and I explain it.

And for those who think it is "wrong" to call this "the Crusades", Christianity has gone through a reformation. We can ally with Jews, Buddists, Hindus, and others to stop the invasion of violent Islam.

Some still think it was wrong to push them out of Spain (which Islam conquored and tried to establish as a Western headquarters). Some muslims even appealed to the Vatican recently asking to be permitted to worship at a Catholic church that was a mosque hundreds of years ago (and still incorporates part of that structure). Of course that mosque was constructed on the site of a former Catholic church...

These ragheads are sh*ttin' razor blades. Their populace is spring loaded to the revolution position and we're poised to strike the match. They're wearing those worry beads down to the string.

I think it is fair to call the Cold War also World War III but I do not see any point to calling this current conflict World War III or IV (different players involved).

World War II came out of World War I. World War III/the Cold War came right out of World War II (the Soviets who had allied with us to defeat fascism quickly sought control of Europe and other lands).

We have been in conflict with Islamofascists long before the fall of the Soviet Union.

I can agree to not call the Cold War World War III if we can agree that it is wrong to call any future conflicts (that are not of European origin) World War xxx.

At what point did these conflicts go from being named "the big war" to World War I, World War II? Other wars were named for the regions or persons involved. The Civil War in the US was a civil war but there have been other civil wars around the world. We may some day see Civil War II in America.

Well are you going to do something or just stand there and bleed?"

Well, my point in calling it WWIII is an analytical guess, based on gut reaction and historical analysis....

...all of which is quite subjective. Nonetheless, it is my instinct.

I also hope I'm wrong.

I would add, on further review of your post, that WWI was 'The Great War' until a consensus developed on the name 'WWII' for the 1939-45 conflict.

'Haven't the Jews and the Christians achieved their progress by means of toughness and repression?

Try building something and improving technology, we can talk the talk and walk the walk, you just talk and talk.

I'm not so much worried what our military might do if we suffer another attack. They will know what to do -- outside our borders. Can you imagine the fury that will be unleashed by the average Citizen inside the U.S. if we take another hit by these crazies.? That is going to be worrisome.

Once it becomes clear that the government is unable to cover all the bases to protect the population, the population will be required to protect themselves. I would not expect the government to do what I wouldn't do for myself. The people empowered the government to perform certain tasks. If the government is unable to perform those things, we must perform the task ourselves until the threat is removed -- permanently. The government will be needing our help and we will be needing the help of government where necessary.

Time to set aside rage and fury and start doing some serious planning. It's time to open the armories and start issuing weapons to every able-bodied. That's why we built them. If the world is to survive this threat to ciliization, America must lead the way by showing other nations how to clean house.

And no, I don't think I'm over-reacting. We are at war on many levels already and we've already lost the propaganda war waged by those who are not our primary enemy. There is no reason to expect that we will not be at war on a physical level in this country. We must have the mind-set for it well in advance, if it isn't already too late.

Something that you said may be the current message from the enemy contained in its warning to us, quote:

"Here's what we can do to you and to Israel. Think carefully before deciding your next move."

I would turn that around and tell the enemy to think long and hard before deciding its next move. It could prove fatal to them on a global scale -- but first and foremost in America.

Dear God I hope we are back to launch on warning.

Well, that was a warning, right?

I'm sure by this evening Kofi Annan will give a press conference condemning Israel and the U.S.

Don't forget he'll be calling for an emergency Security Counsel Meeting
