Iyad Allawi -- the fellow just picked to be interim PM of Iraq -- was apparently the source of the info about Mohammad Atta's meeting with Iraqis.
Actually, that info came from Czech intelligence, who eyewitnessed Atta in Prague during the time when our government completely lost track of his whereabouts. They originally believed that the meeting had to do with a plot to blow up the headquarters of Radio Free Europe.
Several media outlets including the New York Times have put forth an abundance of false information on this topic, such as stating that Czech intelligence later retracted the claim (when they never did), and stating that the CIA denies that the meeting took place, when in fact the CIA's official position is that they can't confirm or deny it.
WRONG...it came from Czech intelligence and from captured Iraqi documents..you are soooo behind the news cycle
