I am curious to know when and from whom Berg learned his trade of working on towers, particularly the physical part. He was obviously very good at it, but that's not something that you just pick up or "learn by doing." For one thing, no one is going to let an amateur on their tower to train.

It seems that Berg had no such experience when he went to OK, but then when he returns he has an established tower business. I could be wrong on this, but that's why I am asking.

His e-mails make reference to a white van that "we" had in Texas and Oklahoma. He also refers to a 2000' "kings" tower in Texas. Who is "we," and what is he doing in Texas?

I think that it would be very telling to know whoever trained Berg and got him interested in this highly specialized business in the first place. I'm wondering if the Prometheus outfit which Soros funded was the instigating force. That may be why Berg named his business Prometheous and why Michael Berg took such steps to put his connection with his son's business on the ANSWER website.

If the Prometheus foundation [it's a foundation, right?] had a program to find and train young men to do this type of work, and Berg was one of its trainees, I would find that significant. Especially if the trainees are sent to OK to be trained by Iraqis.

True, no one could have known at that time that there would have been a war in Iraq that Berg would become involved in. But if there is an Iraqi terrorist-Prometheus link, then it would have to be that there is something about tower work that the terrorists value and that they intended to or have used in their work. Some specific advantage above the general benefits of someone like ClearChannel to having communication tower capabilities. Knowing what that specialized benefit is could go a long way in learning what Berg was doing in Iraq and for whom.

I find this yet another of the irritating aspects of the reporting on this story. I have seen Prometheus Towers described as a tower builder, tower maintenance service and tower painter. There is a wide difference between these three things. Of course I have seen the name of his company as Prometheus Towers and Prometheus Methods Tower Services.

Apparently he had developed an innovative way to build towers out of bricks. He had an exhibit as pictured here,in November, 2003. This was supposed to be a major breakthrough for third world countries that couldn't afford to use traditional materials. The bricks, which could be made from local material, would be much less expensive. Sounds intriguing and would seem to offer endless opportunities for his adventurous spirit. And yet not a month later he's attending an Iraqi business conference and shortly thereafter he's off to that country to repair towers?
