BTW, a recent poll showed that the majority of Americans can't even name the three branches that govern them.

An excellent analysis--extremely valuable for nailing down the essential reality involved. I see you posted this almost two years ago, but I did not see it until today. It goes into great detail, and shows outstanding research, citing far more phenomena than my own far briefer analysis to the same effect in the Seventh Chapter of the Conservative Debate Handbook:
The Lies of Socialism.
I would recommend my much shorter list of points, however, to anyone who seeks a succinct way of getting the obvious message across.

After reading this article I was somewhat surprised about the obvious. Hitler a Socialist. But then I was less impressed about the article after thinking about it.
Even tho some folks here my have a dread and loathing of Socialism that was NOT the aspect of Hitler's rule that killed so many people.
The over looked, often deliberately overlooked and mostly conveniently left out issue here is FASCISM.
FASCISM is NOT the same thing as Socialism. Fascism can exist and does exist in any form of government. It exists with in Socialism, Communism, Democracies and of course dictatorships. It is a thought process - not a government.
Fascism:is a radical authoritarian political philosophy that combines elements of corporatism, totalitarianism, extreme nationalism, militarism, anti-communism and anti-liberalism.
so says - Benito Mussolini <----- he should know.
There are definite signs that fascism is on the rise in the United States.

This link is an interesting descriptor of the signs of fascism in any culture.
Hitler was a Socialist - ask any German about Hitler and they will point out - "on the positive side - he made the trains run on time."
But is was FASCISM that was his killer side.

Benito Mussolini <----- he should know. Mussolini started as a hard core Communist, but he didn't like the uniforms.

~ also It's a good read, and the most compact presentation I have read with all this information.

Thank you.
The Nazis got many of their ideas from American progressives.
