A man with a box cutter terrorized a downtown Boston street yesterday, injuring six people before he was subdued by police.
Not mentioned by NECN (John Kerry's pet news channel), of course, is the fact that since Boston refuses to issue concealed carry permits, the crowd could only cower in terror and shriek as this guy did his slice-and-dice routine. By the time the police arrived, six people had been injured. But that's ok, bercause we know the police will protect us...
If Boston can't stop one guy with a box cutter, how do they intend to protect the Dem convention this summer?
ban box cutters..lol
Once again it shows that there needs to be laws on the sale of box cutters. There are too many loopholes where people can buy box cutters at garage sales and flea markets where proper id checks are not being done.
</sarcasm>
I wonder if the Dims will want to outlaw the sales of box cutters?
Ban guys.
Ban
He must have been driving too long in Boston.
Do you have a link to the original story?
MAYOR MICHAEL R. BLOOMBERG AND CONSUMER AFFAIRS COMMISSIONER GRETCHEN DYKSTRA RELEASE RESULTS OF CITYWIDE ILLEGAL SALES STINGS
Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and the Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) Commissioner Gretchen Dykstra today released results of two comprehensive Citywide stings conducted over the past eight months and intended to crack down on illegal sales of box cutters, laser pointers, and spray paint to minors. DCA conducted 230 inspections using undercover teens throughout the City, including 100 stores in neighborhoods containing the Citys 12 Impact Schools.
Results of inspections over the past eight months show high compliance Citywide: 79% of stores did not sell box cutters; 85% did not sell spray paint; and 96% did not sell laser pointers to kids under 18. Stores that were not in compliance received violations for each sale and the maximum penalties allowed by law. Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly and Schools Chancellor Joel I. Klein joined the Mayor for the announcement at Big Johns Department Store in Brooklyn. Box cutters and laser pointers pose serious safety issues for children and unnecessary hazards for our police officers and teachers, while spray paint invites graffiti into our neighborhoods, hurting our quality of life, said Mayor Bloomberg. Box cutters, spray paint and laser pointers should never be in the hands of minors and were working hard to make sure stores get the message that these items arent sold.
Compliance among stores is high because businesses are getting the message, said DCA Commissioner Gretchen Dykstra. Conducting strategic sweeps throughout the five boroughs, combined with routine inspections and increased business education, allows us to effectively cover more ground, and we'll continue to do so. Box cutters were once the weapon of choice for gang members. But even on this front we are seeing progress, said Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly. Gang-related slashings are half of what they were at this point last year.
Why not trade Massachusetts to Canada for Alberta or Saskatchewan or Manitoba and end this foolishness?
Down here in the south, some angry, white, cross burning, SUV driving male would have saved 5 of the six from injury by brandishing and using his concealed weapon.
Knives are easily countered with yew yards of cloth -- a towel, jacket or shirt, wrapped around the weak hand and forearm and used to trap the blade -- the strong arm and body -- and with the help of others then knock the wielder's head forcefully, explosively -- with hard blunt objects, into a brick wall, or down on the concrete.
Nothing on boston.com / Globe online. Should I be surprised?
Ban Boston.
We haven't suggested banning crowds yet.
If I recall correctly, and I'm sure I do...
The passengers on the planes that struck the WTC and the Pentagon "cowered in terror" as the Wahabbis took over the plane.
Only on Flight 93 did they throw off the reflex conditioning of Socialism: Lie down, hand over your wallet, and do whetever the underprivileged disadvantaged victim/criminal told you to do.
Why didn't the crowd, scream out, "Let's Roll!" and lynch the perp?
Because The Sheep have forgotten Sept. 11th ever happened.
Easy. They plan to so shut down the city with road closures, and have such big "securitiy zones" around the convention center (which is usually a major hub of public transportation, foot traffic, and auto parking, etc.) that Boston will be practically a GHOST TOWN while the convention is in session.
A "Boston" convention without Bostonians, and without a nomination. WHAT A TRAVESTY!!!!
Of course, a determined terrorist--whether with a box cutter or something a lot worse--will be able to get through a lot easier than the "ordinary" citizens whom all these restrictions are designed to keep out!!
Doesn't anybody carry a pocket knife anymore? I'm no knife fighter, but, doggone! If I saw a person coming at me with a knife, I'm at least gonna pull mine and make a fight of it! I would no more leave my house without my pocket knife than I would without my shoes and socks.
One of the reasons why I don't go to Massachusetts any more than I have to - I have a NH CCW, and carrying in Mass. is a mandatory one-year prison sentence.
One man with a gun for protection would have stopped this at once.
