At the start of WWII, FDR said that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

The "fear" speech was his First Inuageral Address. In 1933. He was talking about the Depression NOT our later enemies of WW-2

The opinions of these folks that can't discern that an enemy that commandeers commercial airliners and steers them into skyscrapers, or that rather routinely saws off the heads of non-combatants for TV filming is a little more different than anything civilization has ever confronted are not worthy of serious consideration.
