That is a ridiculous comment. Was Goldwater an anti-Semite?

So if we use the term "neocon" we are antisemitic? As may readily be ascertained, simply by observing the animals in their natural habitats: avowed anti-Semites on both the left and the right regularly do precisely that -- use "neo-con" as ineptly-cheeseclothed code phrase for "Da JOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOS -- !"
Open and unabashed anti-Semites rush to utilize such a phrase, with the metronomic regularity of clockwork toy soldiers. THEY, apparently, feel no especial shame in doing so; no need, then, to mince words when discussing same.

Making fun of your failed arguments is a "personal attack" now, is it? LOL! Your skin's too thin for posting on a public message board, then, my lad. I guffaw openly and heartily at the Wounded, Outraged Ingenue gambit, incidentally. Just to save you some time, is all. You've won me totally over to your side with those *brilliant* arguments.
Typical leftist paranoia. "Ashcroft and all the big, mean Republicans are gonna send us all to Gitmo for disagreeing with them, oh, boo-hoo-hoo."
Just wait until Hitlery gets in there... enjoy your emerging police state.

Jews vote in disproportionately high numbers. I believe that the turnout in 2000 was over 80%.
Jews are not spread evenly over the entire country. Most Jews live in NY, CA, FL, NJ, MI, OH, PA and CT. Flordia, New Jersey, Ohio, and Pennsylvnia are battleground states.

So now if I use the term "neocon" I'm "singling out identifiably Jewish policymakers (Wolfowitz, Perle, etc.) as being part of a mysterious, shadowy cabal with ulterior motives." And who's the bigot here?
To: SJackson
I don't like Zinni one little bit.
I agree the term NeoCon often insinuates Jewish.
I do not however agree that it ALWAYS means Jewish anymore than PaleoCon ALWAYS means anti-semite.
I think learned folks here know the differences.
I do enjoy seeing Zinni squirm over it even if perhaps unjustified in my view.

Zinni is talking about a group of policymakers within the administration known as "the neo-conservatives" who saw the invasion of Iraq as a way to stabilize American interests in the region and strengthen the position of Israel. They include Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz; Undersecretary of Defense Douglas Feith; Former Defense Policy Board member Richard Perle; National Security Council member Eliot Abrams; and Vice President Cheney's chief of staff, Lewis "Scooter" Libby.Zinni believes they are political ideologues who have hijacked American policy in Iraq.
I think it's the worst kept secret in Washington. That everybody - everybody I talk to in Washington has known and fully knows what their agenda was and what they were trying to do, says Zinni.
The article clearly states "Zinni is talking about [the following individuals] " -- all of whom just happen (it's a MIRACLE, I tell you! He oughtta be playin' the lottery!) well-known Washington Jews. It clearly states "Zinnie believes" that these You-Know-Whats are "neo-conservatives" Jews who are "hijacking" our foreign policy -- a page right out of the Protocols, without even a hint of blush or lipstick to tart it up properly.
Ziini, at no point, contests ANY of these interpretations of his words. NONE of 'em.
This story did your argument no good whatsoever. What on earth could you possibly have been thinking of in attempting to utilize it as rebuttal, for heaven's sake...???

So now if I use the term "neocon" I'm "singling out identifiably Jewish policymakers (Wolfowitz, Perle, etc.) as being part of a mysterious, shadowy cabal with ulterior motives."The word -- as clearly, crushingly demonstrated (to your evident distress) -- has a widely-recognized meaning, on both the left AND the right. The fact that you (purportedly) wish to ascribe it an entirely new meaning, Humpty Dumpty-like, is interesting, in a low-key sort of way... but, in the final analysis, irrelevant to the real world discussion at hand.
And who's the bigot here?
Never ask questions when honest answers to same would only upset you, ultimately.

Uh. This is a transcript of a TV piece. That was a voice over. He probably didn't hear it until it was aired. Did you even watch this on Sunday? You seem to be getting worked up about something you are not really familar with.

I used to think NeoCon meant a zealous conservative who was hawkish on foreign policy but had little of the same zeal for the culture war. I admire the former quality but loathe the latter aspect.
Now, I'm told that the term NeoCon strictly means Jewish and hence they have neutralized my right to complain about their quasi-conservative shortcomings out of fear of being called an anti-Semite.
And better yet, they have succeeded here into labeling most Paleos as anti-Semites and culture warriors (like me) as Talibanistas.
Damn...they are clever. I bet the libertarians wish they'd thought of that defense and neutralizing "corner paint".
Btw....we have a crapload of NeoCons here....arguably a plurality....and only a few I know are Jews.
And....the most dependable branch of the Republican party is White Southern Christian males and I can tell you that we usually vote from a culture right perspective and are hardly Neos in the true sense (which ain't all about being Jewish) so I'd be careful about pinning my hopes on NeoCons strictly.
Btw...did I say I'm tired of this Paleo-Neo shite here on FR? Well I have been since before Palpatine/OPH got booted......it's a stinky old wound and we ought to be thinking more about Hanoi John than creating a new victim class of God forbid....conservative.
