The long-term goal--as stated--by Bush is insufficient to rally the masses. But to do otherwise, and lay out the big picture, would, in this Zeitgeist, be most un-PC.

Yes. Tonight's speech seemed to me to be aimed at Iraqis more than us, which to me is an indication that Bush is more interested in winning the war on terrorists than the election, which is fine with me, and probably the only reason I'll vote for him.

I agree that tonight's speech was aimed directly to the people of Iraq as well as to Americans. So the sentences were clear and unambiguous.

People like Savage may say that they fell asleep while W was talking, but to me the 34 minutes just flew by. I was interested in every word.
