Because the militia are starting to get their act together and soon could begin to have a real impact on stopping the flood of criminal illegal aliens crossing the border in violation of the law.
The fed will not be there to stop the mexicans. They will be there to arrest the Americans that are stopping the mexicans. The mexicans will be mearly "tresspassing due to somewhat less than fully documented "migration.""

Seriously, and unfortunately, you may be all too right. So when the troops are deployed, the militias should stand down and remove any excuses.
That would more or less force the military (higher ups) to account for their actions if they fail to keep the invading horde out.
