You have a lot of nerve to be posting something about a beheaded American. What, no news about a new mass murderer having his feelings hurt in Iraq?
Maybe he was working for the good guys.
I think there's more to this story than we'll ever know. FWIW, if he was for the bad guys we would have known that. I suspect he was doing something for the government. That's my tinfoil suggestion for the night.
Thanks. Does your friend know if Nick Berg considered himself an asset of the US or Israel?
From what I've heard, Arabic is pretty tough to learn. Did he say how he learned the language? One surely would not feel comfortable unless he had plenty of opportunity to practice it with other Arabic speakers.
Ashcroft seemed pretty convinced that Berg was no bad guy.
THANKS MUCH.
Interesting.
I don't think that was really Nick Berg in the video. I believe that Nick and Tim (Tim McVeigh bthat is) are sitting in some bar in Tahiti sipping fancy girl drinks that have umbrellas sticking out of them and talking about the good ole' days.
Oops.../sarcasm
Nick Berg info.
Wait a minute, more photos of "prisoner abuse" coming out! Oh no!! We can't equate this beheading with the treatment of these ideal citizens of Iraq! No politics here!! </more sarcasm>
Well at least it's not the "terrorist speculators" on those recent threads. Man, it was like talking to people on the other side of the looking glass.
thx.....we are listening, and we do care....
No one should have to go out that way.
Maybe, just maybe Nick was just as reported a small business pro-bush, pro-war american who got caught at the wrong place at the wrong time.
Thanks for the post. Good freeping.
I happen to believe that Occum's razor is in full evidence here. It is all as it appears to be. Nick Berg was an overconfident young man (read: invincible - - bad stuff only happens to OTHER people) who went to Iraq looking for adventure. His over-confidence may have been fueled by his proficiency in the native Arabic language. He obviously got more than he ever bargained for.
There's always people like this around and they are usually young men. Berg's story reminds me of the story about Howard Dean's brother. He's the brother who was killed in Vietnam where he went "touring" during the war, apparently off on an adventure.
Thanks abner.
Where and when did he learn to speak Arabic? Was it while he was in OKC...
Is your friend certain that Berg was speaking Arabic? (just checking all angles here)
