This news can't possibly be true....Hans Blix said the shell was from a "dump"

I think they could guess the volume of the shell, given it's design. That is why they said 3-4 liters, instead of how much to the nearest milliliter.

I doubt this would be too hard to do.

To use it as other than a terror weapon, the operator would have to obtain the right type of 155mm howitzer, corresponding firing tables, propellant charges and fuses.

Every projectile type has its own unique ballistic characteristics and they are dependent upon the explosive force of the propellant charge, the rifling of the artillery tube, the length of the tube and other factors. While a terrorist could certainly aim the howitzer in the general direction of his target, he would be unable to hit his target without miraculous luck or lot's of practice.

Or they could mount one on an industrial blender and have it come on and spin the warhead. A little trial and error would get them the correct fuse setting. Hopefully they'll get it wrong a few times and leave a trail to the stockpile.

I agree with the news conference. Probably Rumsfeld should hold one with some technical people to explain what is being said.

Probably ment was from an Ammo Dump. Not a dump like a trash dump.

We could uncover Saddam's entire WMD cache and you'd still say "I'm not convinced".

Pathetic.

Yep, Rumsfeld said yesterday that more testing was needed. Bret Baer said today the testing was finished and the pentagon confirmed the 3-4 liters of sarin nerve agent. So Runmsfeld will likely update soon.

Sorry to spoil your day.

"Faith-based WMD -- gotta love it."

Perhaps you'd prefer to wait until some releases a dose of Saddam's WMD stockpile in your neighborhood before you're convinced?

The way that the media hates Rummy I don't blame him for being cautious. Better to err on the side of caution on his part.

The way you sound, it would appear you're disappointed that the bad guys didn't hide the WMD better so the RATS could still chant "BUSH LIED!".

Rummy spoke about it before the tests were concluded.

The terrorist who fabricated the "IED" more then likely did not know that he had a chemical weapon shell.

Now he and his terrorist buddies know. The implications are chilling. And the dominant news stories today are...?

"Actually, Rummy has spoken about it -- and he was very cautious not to exaggerate its importance. "

That was yesterday. Rummy was being cautious because we've all been through false alarms before. Today was the test result confirmations.

What I want to see is a serious and sober DoD conference ASAP. Not the WH. I want some military guy boring us with all the technical details. Then Rumsfield translating for the rest of us.

Very odd. Neither the Sarin story, nor the Berg exrcutioners' arrest is on Drudge.

Foxnews channel just mentioned they were going to the Pentagon shortly for an update.

Talking about transgenders at the moment.

What people like Burnin fail to realize is that there are some countries that strive for years to obtain the amount of Sarin found in this one shell. A gallon of Sarin goes a long LONG way. And here we find that much in one shell in a country that the RATS claim had no WMD.

Sarin story is on Drudge at the top:

FoxNews: tests confirm Sarin

Not sirened, which is disappointing, but is there.

Our son was over there last year, and both he, his wife and his entire family felt the war was worth everything, including his life.

I think I've read that Sarin isn't as lethal in an open air situation, but I must admit I'm really ignorant of the "specifics" on the gas.

If mixed properly, it'll kill ya. Sarin nerve gas was what the Japanese terrorist group Aum Shikiryo used in the subway station a few years ago. Like all chemical and bio weapons, however, it is very hard to prepare and handle. Had the sarin gas used in the subway been prepared properly, it would have killed hundreds of people, not 12.
