All I can say to you is that I'm glad you weren't around during WWII.

No one thought the Germans and Japanese could possibly become the nations they are today.

Your lack of knowledge about Iraq is rather astounding. That you are a hack who is tolerated on FR is even more astounding.

All I can say to you is that I'm glad you weren't around during WWII.

Why? Do you think that I would not have fought? The men that served in WWII were doing a job and a brave one at that. Stemming the rise of Nazism was an important task. However, one has to ask if Wilson would not have involved this nation of states in one of the last colonial wars would WWII have even been necessary

No one thought the Germans and Japanese could possibly become the nations they are today.

Germany and Japan were not following a religion that expressly outlawed democracy. Both had taken a step into the ideals of democracy before WWII. Find even the idea of democracy in the Koran. It's not there. For this nation of states to establish a democracy for any lasting time one would have to ban the Koran in Iraq. Good luck on that task

Your lack of knowledge about Iraq is rather astounding. That you are a hack who is tolerated on FR is even more astounding.

And exactly what lack of knowledge are you talking about? The understanding that this is a culture that will not tolerate democracy from historical context? And before you throw Turkey up as the shining example of democracy in a Muslim nation, two things make that claim impossible. One, the geographic location of Turkey to Europe. The proximity to democratic nations is bound to have an effect. Secondly, it's only been a democracy for about 80 years. And hanging on a thread at that. And of Islamic nations, it is the only one out of over fifty that could even be called a democracy. Not a good track record if you ask me.

What should the administration do? Well, it's over there now so may as well finish it. Establish some form of government for them. Quit rooting around in the sand looking for something, on this I know we disagree, that isn't there. Hussein's out of power, put a checkmark on the list and get home. Just put some form of government that will allow our troops to leave. It doesn't matter what, it's not like it will last that long. I honestly would give it twenty years tops

Second? Give the state of Israel everything it wants for defense. When Iraq does turn, it's going to be p#ssed at anything even remotely connected to this nation of states. And that is one country, I hope we can both agree on, besides our own nation of states that should be protected from any terrorist attack
