pERHAPS, failing other options, an air compressor into a makeshift plastic tube creating some increase in air pressure, at least???
Anything to increase the avalible oxygen would help. I suppose a nebulizer with a mild alkai (like a dilute baking soda solution) would help too.
Breathing through a moist cloth would absorb some of the gas before it got to the lungs.
