At a private, round-the-table discussion in London, the travel chiefs joined representatives from business, health, insurance and the media in giving opinions. Mr Straw first announced a new look for Foreign Office (FO) travel advice in a statement to parliament at the beginning of last month.
Presenting a review to parliament, Mr Straw said that the Foreign Office would only advise Britons not to travel to a certain country when intelligence indicated that there was extreme and imminent danger from terrorists.
