I was always able to determine the sincerety of a woman and whether or not I would have a second date and how much she liked me by a hugs and related actions.
Far hug with 4 back pats = She would rather see the Grim Reaper.
Hug with 3 back pats = Considers me a step above fungus but tries to foist off "friend request", as if.
Close hug with 3 back pats = will call if she needs bail, ride, or wedding date
Hug with 2 back pats = calls accepted depending upon "cycle"
Close hug with 2 back pats = she will initiate drunk sex them blame, may initiate baseless, false restraining order process.
Hug with 1 back pat = phone number earned, multiple thousands of $$$ investment will get miserable relationship 1 month/thousand $.
Close hug with 1 back pat = phone number earned, miserable relationship [little or no cost]
Hug no back pat = she calls you, regularly, relationship, almost regularly
Close Hug = This a familly thread.

Actually, back pats tend to communicate that the hugger doing the back patting is at least significantly uncomfortable and wants to end the hug quickly.

It's much warmer to gently rub the back of the other person in an up/down or circular motion if you want to communicate warmth and closeness.
