It is said that NY state is going reqognize Gay marriages performed in Mass. Bush talks a good talk about doing something about it. But he has actually done nothing. I think he is a wee bit Chicken myself. Now he can be known as the president under which Gay Marriage came to be. Of course This is one of the last signs of the end of a nation. So we may not be having to many more presidents anyway.
He must have an incredibly huge number of priorities to sort.
And when one has limited campaign capital--whether in attractiveness to voters, money or whatever, then I think one has to be very careful to protect the ragingly higher priorities . . . such as survival of The Republic. And, if one thinks one continuing in office a 2nd term is critical to the survival of the Republic as many of us probably think, then it might make sense to tread softly in such a noisey, volitile area with the country so divided.
He has said he disapproves. At least he's taken that stand.
