Since 9/11, I've kept disposable N95 respirators stashed around (car, purse, kitchen) to grab just in case I pick up on a suspicious scent such as the odor of new mown hay, green corn, something fruity, or camphor, as described in this old FR post called "Nuclear, Chemical, and Biological Warfare Risk Information"

Although they won't provide the protection that a gas mask will, they may get you to the nearest exit. Bill Frist recommends these masks.
I also keep generic Betadine in case of nukes. This is an alternative to potassium iodide pills as described in this link from Jill's site:

Thanks for the links Honestly. I've got the N-95 masks but will be putting some in the car (duh!). We have an emergency box in both vechicles, gas masks included in box, but would be easier to drive with the N-95 rather than the full mask.
