I agree with what rickylc replied with. Venus is so far away that it will appear/refelct as a star rather that a planet with the nekkid eye. Interesting that you noticed it that low on the horizon though. Regards, ßß
Yes, it was odd. At least, we all thought so. If it appears tonight, I am ready for it. Have new camera batteries and plenty of film. :)
