I have never posted on a prayer request, but always said a prayer when reading the post. I now know what it feels like to have so many people respond with such warmth. You are an incredible bunch of people, Thank you so much. I will not miss posting again for a prayer request as I understand now how good it is for that persons heart.

I received a phone call about a year ago from a woman I never met, but am related to. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and she decided to research the family tree and try to find as many relatives as she could. Over the past year we became good friends through e-mail and phone calls. She worked on the family tree right up until two weeks before she died (last month). Because of her, I reconnected with many out-of-town relatives, and have met many new ones. I spoke with her twice the day before she lost consciousness for the last time. Her voice was strong as she described the beauty of spring, and she became quite animated as she told me of all the calls and visits she had taken in the previous days. She felt as though she'd had the privilege to witness her own memorial service in a sense. She was very much at peace.
There will be many challenges ahead for your Mom, you and your family, but there may be surprising joys and blessings, too. God will be with you all, now and forever.
